Eggnog Sugar Cookie Bars
With subtle hints of creamy, spiced eggnog while still keeping that tender crumb we all love from sugar cookies, these yummy dessert bars sure go fast!
Ingredients:
For the sugar cookie bars:
1/2 cup room temperature butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 Tsp vanilla
1/4 cup sour cream
2 cups all purpose flour
1 Tsp baking powder
1/4 cup eggnog
Festive sprinkles
For the frosting:
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup room temperature butter
3 tbsp softened cream cheese
1 Tsp vanilla
2 tbsp eggnog
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Like a 9x9 baking dish with parchment paper or grease with butter.
Beat together butter and sugar until fluffy, about 3 mins, then beat in egg, sour cream + vanilla. Finally, beat in flour and baking soda, a little at a time, alternating between dry ingredients and eggnog, until you have a thick batter (batter will be very thick!).
Spread batter into prepared pan and bake for 20 mins or until golden brown on top and inserted toothpick comes out with crumbs.
Allow your cookie bar to cook before frosting and topping w festive sprinkles, cut into desired serving size
