Make Ahead Turkey Gravy

The easiest & most delicious make ahead turkey gravy!!

Because no turkey day is complete without gravy!

Believe me when I say it is WORTH IT to make from scratch, the flavors that come together from the fresh vegetables and herbs make the world of difference!

Ingredients:

3 large carrots, quarter chopped

3 celery stalks, quarter chopped

2 large white onion

Several garlic cloves

2-4 turkey legs or wings

2 tbsp olive oil

Fresh thyme

3/4 cup white wine

6 cups chicken stock

4 tsp butter 🐄

4 tbsp flour

Directions:

1. Quarter chop your celery, carrots, and onions. Add to your pan with garlic cloves. Layer your turkey legs and wings over the vegetable bed. Top with oil, salt & pepper, and fresh thyme. Bake at 400 F for 1 hour.

2. Remove from oven and add your white wine and chicken stock. Place pan back in oven and bake for another 40 mins. Remove your wings & turkey legs and discard or eat! Strain your broth & vegetables, squeezing any remaining juice from the vegetables.

3. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt your butter, and add the flour. Stir until your roux forms. Begin adding half of your reserved broth, whisking until combined with roux. Add the other half and continue to whisk. When gravy has just began to boil, remove to low heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Freeze and keep for thanksgiving day or enjoy day of!

Enjoy! xo Hailey 🤍
